Transylvanian pea food with sour cream is a tasty recipe, very simple, quick and easy to prepare. It is a kind of sautéed peas with sour cream sauce. We eat it with poached eggs, but next to it you can put any type of meat you like.

Recipe taken from my mother-in-law. My son and husband would eat very often, but I only manage to do them once every 2 weeks or even less often.

I also got the recipe from my mother-in-law Transylvanian pea soupe, another delicious recipe, easy to prepare. Peas and sour cream are very good friends in these recipes.

Coming back to Transylvanian pea food recipe I would like to tell you that we once prepared 6 portions, but we woke up with 2 families visiting. I divided the peas into 11 people and the plates were licked. Everyone would have wanted another portion, so I had to prepare another round of Transylvanian peas with sour cream. Fortunately, I had enough peas and sour cream in the house, so in 30 minutes everyone was full, with a satisfied appetite.

Fortunately, this recipe comes out better with frozen peas, the one we always find in stores, so we don't even have an excuse not to try it. Frozen peas retain their taste and properties if frozen quickly. It is the vegetable with the most sources of vegetable protein, it is full of vitamins and antioxidants, calcium, iron, copper.

Transylvanian pea food recipe it is simple, banal, but very tasty. Peas, generally used as a garnish, become the star in this recipe. The egg is the one that accompanies it and not the other way around.

There are many people who can eat raw peas, but also many people who feel bloated after eating peas. Therefore, we take better care to cook it properly and enjoy its taste.

500 g peas
1 large grated carrot
2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon top with sour cream & # 8211 I have changed the recipe in the meantime and use 100 ml sour cream for cooking
1 small bay leaf
1/2 bunch of green parsley
eggs & # 8211 for serving

I boiled 500 ml of water in a kettle.

I hardened the grated carrot in the hot oil in a large pan with high walls.

I poured hot water over the hardened carrot, then I put the peas. The water should be enough to cover the peas, not much over it.

I added freshly ground pepper and a bay leaf. I let it boil over medium heat until the peas are cooked. At this point my mother-in-law adds sour cream mixed with flour and some chopped parsley.

I dissolved the flour with 50 ml of juice from the bowl in which the peas boil in a bowl, I added the cream, I homogenized the composition and I poured it into the pot. I added salt and let it boil until the sauce thickened.

I stopped the fire and put the rest of the green parsley.

Cut the kaizer into small pieces and put in the oven for a few minutes, until golden brown.

Put a little oil in a large pan and cook the finely chopped onion, crushed garlic and bay leaf for 3 minutes. Add the tomato paste and keep on medium heat for 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Add sliced ​​or half-sliced ​​sausages and kaizer and keep stirring occasionally for 2 minutes. Add the peas and discard the bay leaf.

Put it in an oven dish and make 4 holes where we will put eggs. Bake for 15 minutes until the egg whites have set, but the yolk is still soft.

  • 2 cloves large garlic
  • 1 diced red pepper
  • 500 g frozen or fresh peas
  • 400-500 g yellow mushrooms or other mushrooms
  • 8-10 cherry tomatoes or broth
  • salt, freshly ground pepper
  • 1 bunch of parsley (dill, thyme)

PREPARATION Low pea food with mushrooms
1. Heat the oil over medium heat. I cut the white part and the beginning of the leaves from the leek. I washed him and cut his mustache. I cut a third, the one with the leaves, I cut the rounds and I washed these in a sieve because the sand is always collected there. I cut the rounds and the other white part (2/3) and put them all in the pan. I sautéed it all leeks until it became glassy, ​​for about 4-5 minutes.
2. I washed and cut the mushrooms into smaller pieces and sautéed them with the leeks until the juice from the mushrooms dropped, probably about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. I heated a cup of water, I put peas in a pan over leeks and mushrooms, I quenched with a cup of hot water, I added salt and freshly ground pepper. I cooked them for about 10 minutes, I tried to make the peas and the sauce to be just a little. Here it depends on the speed of the fire.
6. I added the broth (or chopped tomatoes) and cooked them for about 3-4 minutes until the sauce was completely reduced.
7. The washed and finely chopped parsley is added at the end.
It is eaten hot, we really liked it.

I made the food at Multicooker, but as I tell you every time it can be done exactly the same on the stove. It's true that since I have the appliance, I like these dishes made more in the cooker.
We clean and wash the vegetables. Turn on the appliance, put the oil in the bowl and select the Fry function for 10 minutes.
Saute finely chopped onion and pepper in hot oil. Add the carrots and the zucchini one by one, cut into rounds / pieces.
Add peas, salt and pepper, pour water and mix.
Close the lid and select the & # 8216stew & # 8217 function and the cooking time for 45 minutes.
After 30 minutes, lift the lid and add the tomato juice, bay leaves and finely chopped garlic. Close again until the remaining 15 minutes have elapsed.

After this time has elapsed, we turn off the appliance and serve hot food.
We can sprinkle green parsley on top.
