The chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, dipped in butter and caressed by a sprig of thyme brings Provencal flavors into your kitchen. Very easy to cook. If you pile them in a tray and some new potatoes and in parallel make a green salad with a light and sour vinaigrette, everything will be a guaranteed success!
Start with preheating the oven to 240C (maximum stage for gas).
- 1 chicken of 2 kg
- 50 g soft butter at room temperature
- 40 cloves of peeled garlic, whole (approx. 3 heads of garlic)
- a sprig of green or dried thyme
- salt, pepper, paprika
- 1kg of freshly peeled potatoes
- 50g cold butter
- little cumin

RECIPE PREPARATION Chicken steak with 40 cloves of garlic:
Season the chicken with salt, pepper and paprika (both outside and inside) and massage well with soft butter. Place the seasoned chicken together with the garlic cloves in a deep steak pan and WITHOUT any other liquid and without a lid or foil, put it in the oven at 240 C with ventilation for 60 minutes.
I was skeptical at the stage that it will be uncovered and without any water but look that at 30 minutes it looks very OK - leave your own juices and the top, although it is at 240C it does NOT burn! After about 15 minutes, brush with the sauce from the pan and return the garlic cloves. At 30 minutes, I added the tender new potatoes, lightly salted and sprinkled with cumin and small pieces of butter. Bake for another 30 minutes!
Everything is crispy and fragrant from butter and garlic! Garlic cloves have become translucent and caramelized. It goes well with a lettuce
