It is the right season to cool down and intensely enjoy fresh, shakes and smoothies in various combinations. The offer of seasonal fruits is rich, colorful and urges us to create unique, vitaminizing and good-looking recipes.

  • 100 ml soy milk;
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger;
  • mint leaves;
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional);
  • 1 diced peach (optional).

RECIPE PREPARATION Smoothie with melon and ginger:

1. Cut the watermelon into cubes and put in a blender with soy milk.

2. Grate the ginger and add it to the blender together with the mint leaves.

3. If you want a sweeter smoothie, you can add 2 tablespoons of honey. I found the melon version, sweet, juicy, perfect for smoothies. I just added a tablespoon of honey to a glass.

4. For extra flavor, add a peach to the smoothie.

Sea buckthorn and pollen are superfoods, but their specific aroma makes them quite difficult to accept, which is why they are administered more as food supplements and less in fresh form.

The famous combination of pollen, sea buckthorn, honey is a solution, but the large amount of sugar in honey drastically limits consumption. That's why I proposed for this recipe an original combination that brings a new element: melon associated with ginger and citrus peel.

I chose the watermelon for the volume, because it is sweet, juicy and fragrant.

To add more flavor and value I added ginger, citrus peel and because I had in the house, I added a measure with amino acids based on orange concentrate but of course it is optional.

The result is a strong energizing drink, so please use small amounts at first.

Although virtually free of side effects, sea buckthorn consumption is limited for people taking anticoagulants or suffering from certain diseases. Therefore, consult the CONTRAINDICATIONS chapter and seek medical advice if you are undergoing treatment.

How to prepare sea buckthorn for the freezer

I looked at the garden dog for two years in a row and you probably guess why: because of the thorns. Eventually I found a relatively simple and effective way to pick berries and put them in the freezer for the winter. Here's how:

  • 1 & # 8211 with a garden scissors I cut branches with fruit which I then divided into pieces of 10-15 cm.
  • 2 & # 8211 I cut the thorns.
  • 3 & # 8211 I put the twigs in bags and then in the freezer.
  • 4 & # 8211 I improvised a device for the quick detachment of the berries from the branches, consisting of a stainless steel vessel with a perforated bottom (sieve with large holes) which I covered with a bowl also made of stainless steel.
  • 5 & ​​# 8211 I put one bag in a row with the frozen branches in the sieve and shook it hard for a few seconds. Some of the impurities were shaken through the holes in the sieve.
  • 6 & # 8211 I removed the twigs, gathered as much as possible from the impurities and transferred the berries, still frozen, in freezer bags.
  • 7 & # 8211 I put the sea buckthorn in the freezer.

Note: In order for the fruit not to thaw, it must be worked very quickly.

How to use frozen sea buckthorn

I can choose to use it as such in a smoothie, or I can get juice using a screw-driven juicer that works by pressing.

I recommend this type of juicer instead of those that work by spin. The latter are not effective either, they cannot be used for all types of fruits and vegetables, and especially they cannot be used to obtain juice from the leaves.

In both cases, I take the sea buckthorn out of the freezer, transfer it to a colander and pass it quickly through a stream of cold water. This cleans it of impurities that could not be removed when I froze it.


Energizing and invigorating smoothie with melon

Ingredient:

& bull 100 grams of melon (peeled and pitted)
& bull 1 banana
& bull 1 teaspoon of maca
& bull 1 cinnamon tip
& bull 1 glass of purified water
& bull ice cubes, for serving

Method of preparation

Put all the ingredients (except ice) in a blender and mix for a few seconds. Pour the liquid into a glass in which two ice cubes are already nestled and drink in small, leisurely sips.

This smoothie is great before going to the pool or the beach. Because it is important that, here too, we are energetic, but have a flat stomach. The girls know what I'm saying!

The high water content of melon helps keep dehydration at bay and fights the heat of hot summer days, while its delicious taste can be used in low-calorie desserts that are prepared without too much effort, for the little ones. but also for adults.

In terms of health benefits, melon contains antioxidants, which filter the blue rays of harmful light, to play a protective role for our eyes so it keeps us away from macular degeneration. In addition, beta-carotene found in yellow and orange fruits (including cantaloupe) and vitamin C, another important nutrient found in abundance in watermelon, can protect against ASTHMA.

The content of fiber, potassium, vitamin C and choline in watermelon contributes to heart health. Keep in mind that regular consumption of foods that are high in potassium can help lower blood pressure, and a food that contains a lot of potassium is watermelon.

ingredients :

  • 2 cups seedless watermelon, cut into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves

Put all the ingredients in the blender and mix until you get a smooth mixture. Add water / coconut water to thin the texture of the smoothie. You can sprinkle more paprika on the smoothie, depending on your preferences.

3. Smoothie with watermelon, strawberries and ginger

ingredients :

  • 3 cups seedless watermelon, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups chopped and pre-frozen strawberries
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fresh, finely chopped ginger
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of fresh lime juice

Put the frozen strawberries and mix well. Place them together with the rest of the ingredients in the blender and mix until you get a homogeneous mixture.

4. Smoothie with melon, cinnamon and Greek yogurt
