Here's how to make a recipe for turkey legs in the oven!

3 turkey legs
100 ml of olive oil
150 ml white wine
200 gr butter (82.5% fat) soft at room temperature
2 small cloves of garlic
3 stables of fresh rosemary
about 2 tablespoons of salt
white pepper
about 100 ml of water

Preparing turkey legs:

1. Thoroughly clean the thighs and blood. Wash them and wipe them with paper towels to keep them dry. Then season the thighs with salt and pepper. Place them in a glass bowl and pour the wine and olive oil over them. Leave them to marinate overnight.

2. Before baking, take the legs out of the fridge and leave them at room temperature for about 2 hours to avoid the shock of the refrigerator-oven temperature. Mix the soft butter with the fresh rosemary slices. Meanwhile, peel the skin off the thighs, run your finger under it and grease the meat (under the skin) with soft butter and rosemary. Put slices of garlic in these leather pockets. Then grease the thighs and top until you finish the garlic and butter.

3. At the end, arrange the turkey legs on a large tray, pour a little water and cover them with aluminum foil. Bake the turkey legs for about 1 hour 45 minutes in the oven heated to 190 °.

4. Then, remove the aluminum foil, grease the thighs with a brush with the sauce from the tray and bake for about 30 minutes or until they catch a beautiful golden crust. If you want to serve turkey legs with potatoes / carrots, then now is the time to add them. Potatoes should be seasoned with salt and pepper in advance.

The meat will come off the legs easily and will be very fragrant. Garlic, butter, rosemary and wine will soften the meat and give it a special and delicious taste.

All the products in this recipe I bought from Metro and I was amazed by the smell and freshness of rosemary. We also appreciated the range of frozen birds available (ducks, turkeys, geese, chickens). I took advantage of the offer and bought refrigerated turkey legs and I enjoyed this advantage.

I also slipped some kapia peppers in the tray, which together with the garlic and rosemary left a delicious aroma in the tray. If you don't have them, they don't have bathrooms, maybe without them, but it's preferable for them to be there too. Change the whole recipe equation with their baked pepper flavor.

It's a little hard for me to give exact amounts. Calculate, say, about 200 g of raw meat and 2 potatoes per person. The steak goes great with a green salad next to it.

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 2–3 onions
  • 2–3 carrots
  • 4–5 celery stalks
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Fresh herbs

The preparation process

Heat the copper to 180 degrees C.

For flavor: Cut the garlic clove in 2 vertically, then cut the other mashed vegetables and place in a baking tray. Place the fresh herbs on top of the vegetables, sprinkle with a little olive oil, mix them all together and set them aside.

In a bowl put the butter, grated peel of 1 lemon together with the juice, put the crushed garlic well, season with salt and black pepper and mix together.

Wipe the turkey on top and inside with a paper towel, this will make the skin drier and the butter will spread evenly all over.

Take care of the turkey: tie the turkey's legs together with a kitchen thread, season the bird inside with salt and black pepper. Rub the butter evenly under the skin and over the bird. Put 2 vertically cut clementines and herbs inside the turkey. Put the turkey in the pan on top of the vegetables prepared earlier. Cover the bird with aluminum foil.

Put the pan in the preheated oven for about 2 hours (or depending on how many kg the turkey has, know that it cooks for 35-40 minutes per kg.) Grease the bird from time to time with the juice left in the pan.

Remove the aluminum foil before the turkey is ready and return it to the oven so that it browns nicely. (You can also check if the bird is ready with a meat thermometer, it must have 70 degrees C inside)

When the turkey is ready, take it out of the oven and let it cool for about 1 hour - 1 hour and 30 minutes before serving.

Ingredients turkey in the oven

How to prepare turkey in the oven

Remove the turkey from the refrigerator and let it reach room temperature. We mix the soft butter with the salt, the pepper, the crushed garlic and a sprig of finely chopped rosemary. We set aside a tablespoon for the garnish. Stir so as to obtain a paste. Massage the turkey well on all sides, both outside and inside.
We tie the turkey's legs, but also the wings, so that it does not deform during baking and has a pleasant appearance at the end. Add two whole sprigs of rosemary.

Place the turkey in a tray, chest up. I used the oven tray. I cleaned the potatoes and cut them in four. I used frozen carrots and put them directly like this, without thawing them beforehand. In a bowl I put the carrots and potatoes, I added the aromatic butter kept aside and I mixed them well. I put the vegetables in the pan, around the turkey. I poured 200 ml of wine and 200 ml of water into the tray.

I covered everything with aluminum foil. if you have a problem with the aluminum foil you can put a baking paper first, and then put the aluminum foil and so it will not come into direct contact with the meat.
Bake at 250 degrees with ventilation (up and down) for an hour.

After an hour, remove the foil and adjust the oven to 200 degrees. From this moment, I left the turkey in the oven for another two hours, during which time I turned the tray over or turned the turkey to the right or to the left, so that it would brown nicely on all sides.

After three hours the turkey was ready, tender and brown on all sides. A potato or a carrot was burned on the edges, but it wasn't a big problem, I removed them and solved the problem.

I removed the thread around the wings, unfortunately I tried to remove the one from the legs, but the turkey was a bit indecent in the picture, so I preferred to leave it until the moment of serving.

I washed the turkey legs well and removed any feathers, you can talk about them on the stove flame.
Because they are a bit big, I cut them in half and seasoned them with salt, pepper and chili, greased the tray with oil and placed the thighs.

In the hot oven I put the tray with thighs for 20 minutes at 200 degrees. Pour the tomato juice over the thighs, a few rounds of hot peppers and sprinkle with thyme, put the tray back in the oven.

During baking, sprinkle the thighs with the sauce formed, take a sauce with a spoon and put it over the thighs. When the turkey legs are penetrated, sprinkle them with red wine and season with crushed garlic.
Let it brown a little in the oven and brown it nicely and to flavor it. We taste the sauce and the meat, the taste will be to your liking, faster, more garlic.
Remove the tray from the

While the meat was in the oven, I made a mashed potato.
A delicious lunch, tender and tasty legs, a slightly spicy sauce and a fine puree,
Enjoy your meal. A glass of red wine is recommended.

Turkey pulp with baked potatoes, a low-calorie delicacy

Turkey pulp is a great alternative to chicken, which, I tell you honestly, has been taken away from me for a while. Because it's the first time I cook turkey leg in the oven, I said it wouldn't hurt to tell you the recipe, maybe you're thinking of diversifying the menu.

The recipe is simple, you don't have to have who knows what skills, you just have to have patience and the right spices. And the preparation will be worth the wait, I guarantee you. The meat comes off the bone easily, is tender, tasty, filling and, most importantly, healthy!

As a garnish we chose 3 sweet potatoes cut into rounds, but you can also use normal potatoes without problems, even in the shell - they seem to taste even more!
