Heart Shaped Cookies Recipe of 14-02-2019 [Updated on 14-02-2019]
THE heart-shaped cookies are a must for Valentine's day! Very simple to make but very effective, these cookies are perfect if you want to amaze your Valentino (or your Valentina) in a short time: one of those recipes for which the concept of minimum effort, maximum yield is valid. I prepared them with a classic shortcrust pastry, but if you prefer you can also flavor it with citrus fruits, spices or whatever your imagination suggests ... and your stomach ;-)
This year we celebrate twice, the first was last night, I organized a romantic dinner with my husband and my daughter, but tonight I will be in Bologna, where I will celebrate with my husband in a romantic restaurant. In any form and in any way, this is a day that for me must be celebrated, therefore, happy Valentine's Day to everyone and, if you want to make a sweet with your hands, prepare these romantics heart-shaped cookies for your loved one, be it a husband, a child or a friend to be served at the end of dinner following an ad hoc Valentine's Day menu;)

How to make heart-shaped cookies
Prepare the shortcrust pastry: start by kneading butter and sugar, then add the egg, finally flour, yeast, salt and vanilla.
Wrap the dough with cling film and let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Take 1/3 of the dough and add the red coloring, working until a uniform color is obtained.
Roll out, separately, both the red and the neutral dough on a well floured surface.
Cut out medium sized hearts from the neutral block, and small hearts from the colored one.
With the same molds used to make small hearts, cut hearts in the center of the white shortcrust hearts.
Arrange the medium hearts, now perforated in the center, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then place a red heart in the center of each to fill the gap.
Bake for about 12-15 minutes in a preheated convection oven at 180 ° C.
Once cooled, serve your heart-shaped cookies.
