Cheesesteak recipe by of 22-01-2016 [Updated on 29-11-2018]
Cheesesteak, also known as Philly cheesesteak is a sandwich filled with thin slices of steak then cut into small pieces and melted cheese. It is a very popular streeet food in America that has its roots in Philadelphia.
The bread used for this preparation is the classic one for hot dogs, the meat is that of beef and for the cheese instead it ranges from American sweet cheese to cheddar to cheez Whiz a kind of spreadable cheese. What I propose is the basic version of cheesesteak to which onions, or peppers, or mayonnaise is often added.
The weekend is upon us and this could be an idea to add to your selection of dishes if you usually have a home fast food evening;) So I leave you with the recipe of the day and I get to work, a kiss and see you later: *
How to make Cheesesteak
Heat the griddle or a non-stick pan and cook the meat 1-2 minutes per side.
Put it on a cutting board, salt it and cut it into thin strips, then into squares.
In the meantime, cut the sandwiches (my recipe for hot dog sandwiches here) and pass them on a grill.
Put the meat back on the hot plate, and add the Cheddar cheese.
Stir with a wooden spoon until the cheese melts completely.
Switch off, stuff your sandwiches and serve your Cheese steak immediately.
