Ice cream pods are soft baskets with which ice cream can be served. Their preparation, following the various steps, is not complicated but you have to be quick in shaping the basket before it cools down. Only once the basket is well shaped can it be used for the ice cream we like best. Believe me, preparing the waffles for ice cream is easier to do than to say, with the Thermomix it's even faster!
How to make ice cream waffles with the thermomix
Put the butter in the jug and work for 30 sec. at 50 °, speed 1.
Put the icing sugar (or chop 34 gr of granulated sugar and 1 gr of corn starch into the bowl for 10 sec., Speed Turbo) and the egg white in the bowl and work for 30 sec., Speed. 5.
Add the melted butter by now warmed, then the flour and finally the vanilla, working for another 30 sec., Vel. 5.
With a round pastry cutter, draw 4 circles of 12 cm, well spaced, on a sheet of parchment paper.
Turn the parchment paper so that the drawn side is against the pan. With a kitchen brush or the back of a spoon spread a thin layer of dough on the round shapes that can be seen.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° C and bake for about 6-8 minutes: the wafers will be ready as soon as the edges start to brown.
Lift them immediately, still hot, with a spatula, gently, and shape them while they are still hot, for example by shaping them around upside-down glasses.
Once the shape has been given, the procedure can be repeated, moving on to the next 4 pods and so on.
Once cooled, you can turn the wafers upside down.
You can garnish them as you like, from whipped cream to ice cream, as long as you do it at the end, so as to serve them immediately.
