Strudel recipe with figs from of 24-01-2011 [Updated on 27-07-2018]
Like every Monday I leave you a recipe for a sweet, this time I give you the recipe to prepare the figs shortcrust strudel. When he was little my husband was crazy for Pavesi strudel stuffed with fig jam, not finding them on the market anymore, Saturday afternoon he asked me to make them at home and this was the pleasant result.
How to make fig strudel
In a large bowl, work the softened butter and sugar until creamy, then add the egg and mix it.
Chop the almonds and place them in a bowl with the flour and yeast then pour them into the bowl with the butter cream.Mix everything until the dough forms a ball. Then place it wrapped in cellophane in the fridge for 30 minutes.In the meantime, chop the dried figs and mix them with the fig jam.
Divide the pastry into 3 parts.
On a floured pastry board, roll out the pastry about half a cm high and put the filling along the edge.
Roll up to form a loaf and cut off the excess.
Seal the edges well and arrange the 3 loaves on the baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
Put the fig strudel in the oven at 180 and cook for 15 minutes.
Allow the loaves to cool and then cut them into small pieces with a smooth blade knife.
Sprinkle the fig strudel with powdered sugar and serve.
