Apple tartlets recipe by of 21-04-2018
The apple tartlets that I propose today are a little sweet that you can prepare for breakfast, snack or as a dessert after dinner. The union of cocoa shortcrust pastry and apple cream (I used the red apples) fits really perfectly and you will understand why it will be difficult for you to treat yourself to just one of the tarts done :)
How to make apple tartlets
Start making the shortcrust pastry by combining sugar, butter and vanilla essence.
Then add the egg and work until you get a cream.
Finally add flour, baking powder and cocoa and knead until a homogeneous dough is formed.
Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest for 1 hour in the fridge.
After this time, take it back and roll it out with a rolling pin.
With a round cookie cutter, make circles with which you will line the molds and prick the base with the prongs of a fork.
Now peel the apple and cut it into pieces.
Transfer it to a saucepan on the stove with the brown sugar and rum to caramelize them.
Meanwhile, prepare the cream by combining the sugar with the egg yolks and then the flour.
Heat the milk with the prepared mixture on the stove and stir constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
Once thickened, add the butter and almond flour, then start mixing again.
Now that your cream is ready, stuff the tarts.
Also add the apples and bake in the oven at 180 ° C for 20 minutes.
Your apple tarts are ready to be enjoyed, with a sprinkling of powdered sugar.
